Casa Bi’cu
Casa Bi’cu is a country residence located on the outskirts of the City of Oaxaca in the town of San Andres Huayapam. Designed to complement its natural surroundings, the house welcomes guests with the warmth and tranquility of the Sierra Norte of Oaxaca.
San Andres Huayapam is a small town in the Central Valleys known for the elaboration of Tejate, a pre-Hispanic drink based on corn, cocoa, mamey bone and “rosita de cacao”.
Each corner is thought consciously and sensitively, integrating into the landscape through noble and essentially natural materials: stone, wood, quarry and reed. The architect Guillermo de la Cajiga, has conceived the space as a visual and sensitive joy, result of the understanding of its owners and their lifestyle.
Mexican architecture can be seen throughout the house, from the large stone wall at the entrance, through the central patio, and up to the spacious terraces that become an extension of the breathtaking landscape.
Bi’cu - in Zapotec - dog, refers to the guardians of the house; always taking care of the peace and harmony of this 3-bedroom and 2-bathroom oasis.
