Hacienda La Sierra
Nestled in Fredonia, Antioquia - just an hour away from Medellin - Hacienda La Sierra is a tranquil retreat, ideal to unwind and soak in the Colombian Coffee culture. The hotel is surrounded by the natural wonders of the country, offering with views of extinct volcanoes, the sounds and sights of birds, colorful butterflies and the sweet smell of tropical fruits.
A secluded hideaway, Hacienda La Sierra is home away from home — offering hikes around the coffee plantations, horseback riding through the iconic Cerro Bravo Mountains, bird watching, strolling around beautiful little towns, coffee tasting and exquisite gastronomy. It’s the perfect place to relax, slow down, reconnect with nature and fall in love with Colombia.
The property, built as a traditional hacienda antioqueña delights the guests with every detail, a prime example of the seventeenth-century Spanish colonial style that is common in Colombia’s Andean Mountains.
A hammock in your private balcony overlooking the plantations will be the best spot to catch up on your reading while you sip a cup of delicious coffee. Prefer a Michelada? (cold beer with salt and lime) Under the sun and by the pool. Brewed coffee? A team of experts will take you to a spectacular coffee tasting trip.
We were delighted by the bespoke gastronomic experience. Kevin, the chef, surprised us with his re-interpretation of the classic flavors of the Colombian cuisine with a more sophisticated technique and style, always using the freshest ingredients farm-to-table style.
Thank you María Cristina, Catalina, Diana
and the whole team for such a wonderful experience.
