Masseria Moroseta
Masseria Moroseta, designed by architect Andrew Trotter, is a country house located in the Ostuni region of Italy, on a 5-hectare field surrounded by olive trees. The house was built with traditional techniques and local materials, it is inspired by the old farmhouses of Puglia but incorporating modern elements in the design. Like traditional houses, Masseria Moroseta has a central patio, six bedrooms on each side, and a living room and terrace which overlook the infinity pool and the sea.
The ceilings are vaulted, the walls are thick and the floors are made out of stone, keeping the interior nice and cool, even on the warmest days of summer. Completely white with pieces from local and foreign artisans, it transmits tranquility and simplicity.
The common areas remind us of the traditional Italian houses, where meetings and encounters are encouraged.
The end result is a piece of minimalist modern architecture that fits perfectly into the landscape of the area and belongs to the land on which it sits. A modern "farm" based on the history and traditions of the place.
Masseria Moroseta is a completely eco-friendly house. Not only because of its unique design, but all food and drinks are either grown in-house or bought from local farmers, producers and artisans. Everything is either homemade, or bought locally from artisan producers. In the morning you will enjoy eggs from the chickens, bread with their stone-pressed olive oil, and jams they prepare in the wintertime.
