Casa Criollo
Casa Criollo is a small, peaceful, 2-bedroom residence to experience Oaxaca like a local. The secret to immersing into the real and fascinating Oaxacan soul is to discover and explore the most discreet, seemingly insignificant places, but full of tradition and beauty.
Casa Criollo hides behind the brilliant Criollo restaurant, a gastronomic project of chefs Luis Arellano and Enrique Olvera. The initiative came from Olvera, who in collaboration with the architect Javier Sánchez created this refuge with sober nuances, where good food, design and local art converge harmoniously.
The combination of plants and concrete walls creates a spacious and calm atmosphere, where design and nature come together as one. The rooms, in neutral tones and wooden furniture, boast typical textiles in every corner. Every detail has a reason for being there, even the music that enlivens the different spaces has been carefully selected by Enrique Olvera to create the ideal atmosphere for this magical retreat.
