Outpost Casa das Arribas

Perched on the hillside of Azenhas do Mar, just 45 minutes away from Lisbon, Outpost Casa das Arribas is comprised of 6 different holiday homes. Having spent many summers in Lisbon, we have to say this was the perfect weekend getaway: a truly remote outpost, away from everyone and everything, standing there seemingly isolated on the cliff.

Originally built in the 1940s by renowned architect Raul Lino, the holiday casa was recently renovated to bring guests a modern hideaway. Guests share the vast garden, pool and tennis court, while enjoying an ocean-view from every apartment. Combining luxury-hotel amenities with the privacy, space and independence of your own holiday house.

The perfect place to disconnect, you can spend the day surfing, at the beach, or just by the pool. Or if you want to just stay in, wear your robe and chill in your casita. Every house is styled different but with a beachy-minimalist setting: you will find local design such as the beautiful wooden furniture designed by Glen, who has his workshop in the next village, or gorgeous bespoke lighting designed inhouse.

Wake up every morning with a basket full of fresh local products (fresh orange juice, tea, coffee, bread, eggs, ham, cheese, jam, fruits, butter) to make your own breakfast. Every apartment comes with a fully equipped kitchen, making it a dream to cook while feeling at home, dancing to your favorite songs or just marveling at the incredible sunrise.

We stayed at their newest apartment: the Pool House. A 58m2 space ideal for couples, or those on a solo getaway. You can relax poolside or spend all day in bed if you want, as the spectacular bedding are all sourced from from Coco Mat, handmade in Northern Greece. For us, OUTPOST was the ultimate digital detox paradise. The houses are also great for a family trip full of unforgettable memories.

You won’t want to leave the comfy house with captivating sea views while enjoying the lovely sea breeze. But if you do, there is plenty to do in the area. Great food, beautiful landscapes and pretty villages are around. Just make sure to come back to watch sunset by the pool, you won’t want to miss it!
