Spring Tablescapes

A journey through cheese and an imaginary golden-hour escape.

Dressing a table in a beautiful way can be a way to escape from our day-to-day routines, even traveling without leaving our homes. To keep spirits high and together with Formaje, we welcomed Spring with a beautiful table setting that will take us to aperitivo time under the Mediterranean sun.

To recreate this table, you will need:

〰 A selection of cheeses, from Formaje

〰 Freshly baked bread

〰 A mix & match of funky candles

〰 Wax linen wraps

〰 Different jars and vases

〰 Fresh fruit and flowers all along and around the table

〰 Linens to dress the table

Layers, layers. Just as springtime dressing, using layers of different colors and textures create depth - therefore coziness. We set our table with our Hôtel Weekend Tablecloth made in collaboration with embroidery artist Sarah Espeute, but you can find plain linen tablecloths in beautiful hues in Arles Studio or just add a patchwork of napkins on top of your wooden table.. As a base for the cheese, we opted for Wax Atelier’s linen wraps.

Add a rainbow. Both Formaje and us love neutral, organic colors. So our interiors and linens are always beige, brown, or grey. To add a pop of color, we used fruit and flowers to bring brighter colours to our table.

Candles everywhere. Decorating with candles not only makes a space more beautiful, but it creates a sense of coziness and warmth. We added our new Wax Atelier candles all over the table, combining sizes and colors. We recommend not using strong scented candles on the table so you can really appreciate the flavors and scents of the food.

Make it fun. Unexpected details make a table fun, and are also conversation starters. We used our fruit as candle holders.

Make a playlist. It is really important to have the right soundtrack. You can create yours based on your latest trip or a dream voyage, or simply a mix of your favorite tunes that allow for conversation without much distraction.
